Pot Pies ▶ Lac St‑Jean meat pie ▶ 750 g
Every family and region has its own recipe of this classic Quebec dish, and here's our version! Our lightly seasoned filling is made with ground beef and pork, beef cubes, chicken, and potato cubes, all in our golden-brown and flaky pastry crust.
Preparation
Cooking times may vary depending on the appliance used.
Conventional oven
Preheat oven to 190 °C (375 °F). Remove pie from plastic wrapping and place in oven. Heat for 30 minutes, or to your liking.
IF THE PIE IS FROZEN: Do not thaw it before heating. Preheat oven to 180 °C (350 °F). Remove pie from plastic wrapping and place in oven. Heat for 60 minutes, or to your liking.
Microwave oven
Remove the pie from the plastic wrapping and place in the center of the microwave's turntable. The plate must not, under any circumstances, touch the walls of the oven. Heat one plate at a time. Heat on maximum power for 4 to 5 minutes or until desired doneness. It is important that the pie is whole. Our aluminum plates can be used safely in the microwave oven.
Barbecue
Preheat barbecue by lighting one burner only. Remove pie from plastic wrapping and place over the unlit burner. Close the barbecue lid and heat for 20 minutes, or to your liking.
Storage & Handling
Keep refrigerated.
Can be frozen.
If the pie is frozen, do not thaw it before heating. Please refer to the instructions above for more details.
