Which Plaisirs Gastronomiques products are gluten free?

We have a wide variety of gluten-free products that you can discover on our website by visiting the "gluten free products" page under the "products" menu. To access this page, please click here

Also, a yellow "gluten free" logo can be found on most of our gluten-free products' packaging.

Can I freeze your products?

Most of our products can be frozen. However, we recommend consuming them within six months, to prevent freezer burns. Note that our salads and spreads can not be frozen. For more information on the storage of a specific product, please consult the "Storage & handling" tab in the product page, on our website.

Where can I find the expiration date on my product's packaging? What does it mean?

There is an expiration date on all our fresh products: it is stamped directly on the packaging. This date is preceeded by the letters "MA / BB" which means "Meilleur avant / Best before" and is displayed in the "YYYY MM DD" format. For products packaged in cardboard boxes, the expiration date is normally located on one of the flaps, on either the side or bottom of the box. For products packaged in plastic containers, that date can be found on the lid.

The expiration date is the date until which the product's freshness is ensured, and therefore refers to the last date it should be eaten.

Which Plaisirs Gastronomiques products contain peanuts?

None! We do not use peanuts or ingredients that contain peanuts.

How can I be sure that my product has not been in contact with a food allergen?

We have in place a rigorous allergen control program that prevents cross contamination. So if a notifiable food allergen is not in the allergen list of your product (under the ingredient list), you can be assured that it does not contain it.

Do you offer coupons?

We do not offer coupons. However, we are committed to offer our products at fair and very competitive prices. We invite you to regularly consult the flyers of your favorite supermarkets since our products are often offered at special prices (in-store deals).

I would like to try one of your products but my supermarket does not carry it. What can I do?

Although the majority of our products are available in most major supermarket banners in Quebec, it is possible that your store does not carry the product you are looking for. It is important to know that each store places its orders independently according to the needs of its customers, and that some of our products are only available in certain banners. If you can not find the product you want at your local grocer, simply make a request to the store Manager.

Where does your meat come from?

Due to the large volume required to meet demand, our meat comes from multiple suppliers mainly located in Quebec, Canada, the United States and Europe.

For how long can I keep and consume your products after opening?

Under normal refrigeration conditions, the lifespan of our products after opening varies by the product type:

  • Pot pies, puff pastries & quiches: 2-3 days
  • Meat pâté de campagne, liver pâtés, mousses & potted meat: 2-4 days
  • Sausages: 2-4 days
  • Cooked meats: 3-4 days
  • Confit meats: 2-4 days
  • Cretons: 2-4 days

As for our salads and spreads, you will find their respective lifespan (after opening) on their packaging, under the ingredient list. You can also find this information under the "Storage & handling" tab of their product page, on our website.

Can I eat an expired product?

No. We do not recommend consuming any product past its expiration date, since its freshness can not be guaranteed after this date.

How can I know if an allergen is included in the ingredients of a product?

We must follow strict government standards regarding the declaration of food allergens on our packagings. Their presence must be declared on the packaging. If a product contains milk, for example, the following allegation will be indicated on the packaging, under the ingredient list: "Contains : milk products". To consult the list of the notifiable allergens, please click here.

If you have an allergy to an ingredient not listed in this list, such as cinnamon or garlic, we highly recommend that you contact us to confirm whether the ingredient is present in your product before eating it. To contact us, please click here.

How can I be sure that one of your gluten-free products does not contain any trace of gluten, even if its packaging has a "gluten free" logo?

In order to add our "gluten free" logo on the packaging of our products, these products must be analyzed by independent laboratories which validate the absence of this element. We also have in place an allergen control program that prevents cross-contamination.

Can I buy Plaisirs Gastronomiques products directly from the company?

We do not sell our products directly to consumers. Our products are available in most grocery stores in Quebec, and we invite you to regularly consult the flyers of your favorite supermarkets to find our products at special prices.

Are your packagings recyclable?

Most of our packagings are recyclable. You will find the universal recycling symbol on these packagings.
